Bionic Implants for Sale.

Nowadays, it seems, more and more people are going for plastic surgery. Not because they need to get it done, but purely for vanity. Don’t like the look of your nose? Then pick a new one (pun intended). Heavy bags under your eyes? Cut them out. Too fat? Get some liposuction. Too many wrinkles? Get the Botox out. Colour of your eyes don’t match your outfit? Get some contacts in. In this day and age, if you have the money (or don’t) then you can walk into any plastic surgeon’s clinic and fix your ‘problem’.But let’s go one further. Arms too skinny? Get them replaced by bionic ones. Legs too short? Get some longer ones. Feet too big? Get them chopped off and fit some smaller ones. The point I am trying to make is that in this day and age, looking good is no problem. If you have the money then there is probably a surgical procedure out there that can fix a whole lot of defects to the human body. There’s even a plastic surgeon out in holywoodJust name your price.

Now, the question is, if you had a choice, what would you get replaced? Let’s say that technology has caught up with the sci-fi movies and you could, say, go into a shop and buy yourselves a new pair of eyes. Or arms like Arnold Schwarzenegger. Breasts like Pamela Anderson. Anything. What would you change and why? The rub is though that you have to replace a good, healthy part for a bionic one. You can’t get away saying that you lost your arm in an accident and you have to get a new one. This is purely walking into a shop and buying a new body part.

For example, you look in the mirror and you are unhappy about your eyes. They are maybe too small and beady looking and they make your forehead look as if it’s sticking out too much. Why not pick up the Yellow Pages and look up where your local bionic parts store is and go and see what they have. It’s as easy as that.

So, there you are at the store and you are talking to the sales assistant. “I want a new pair of eyes please. Something in blue. Maybe with a telescopic lens in it so I can see far away and with an x-ray option so I can look through things.”. “No problem, sir. I have the eyes for you. They have just come in.” “Mmmmm. No, they look a bit small to me. Do you have something bigger?”. “Let me take a look in the back for you sir. Be right back”. The sales assistant returns with a pair of eyes the size of a golfballs. “How about these sir?”. “Perfect. I’ll take them.”. “Cash or cheque sir? Sitting in or taking away?”.

Another example.

You are watching the latest UFC and you see a fighter on there with big strong arms, pummelling his opponent. Man, wouldn’t you like a pair of arms like that? Look at those veins sticking out. Those meat hooks are huge. Look at those biceps. Fantastic. So you pop down your local bionics store and get yourself a pair.

So, what would you choose and why? Remember this is sci-fi. Pick anything you want but you have to give me a reason for your choice. Would you have any problems replacing a good, healthy body part for something that has been made in a factory?

For those that need a Punisher fix, our friends at IGN have the new trailer.

You can check it out here.

The film is due out sometime in December.

Personally speaking, I don’t think it’s gonna do well. At least not as well as The Incredible Hulk or Iron Man. Never really been a big Punisher fan. Sorry.

Just found out the Len “The Lucky Lucky B@$t@rd” Wiseman is to direct the Gears of War movie. How jammy can you get? Married to the fantastically gorgeous Kate Beckinsale, lets hope that his luck doesn’t run out and Gears of War falls at the first hurdle.

The script is by Chris Morgan, who also co-wrote ‘Wanted’.

No news on when the movie is gonna start production but let’s all hope it looks as gorgeous as Kate (and of course the Gears of War game) and has a decent storyline.

Hankies at the ready.

Raimi Coming Back For Spiderman 4 (and 5?).

With all the rumours that the new movie will feature a brand new Peter Parker, looks like there may be no need for this after all.

Comingsoon.net is reporting that Sam Raimi may come back and direct Spiderman 4 (and 5?) after all. Sam never ruled out directorial duties for the next installment and is “open and quite eager to direct a fourth”.

It may be the case that he wants to prove that the first two were no flukes (the third movie was only ‘Amazing’ and not ‘Spectacular’ like the first two) but I think thats hooey. Sam Raimi loves Spiderman and I just think that he wants to do another, not for the hell of it, but because he loves the character so.

The script is being written by James Vanderbilt and should be ready in the next few months and Sam has been quoted as saying “I can’t wait to read it”.

The good news also is that Sam has no intentions to re-cast which should be applauded. People fell in love the movie due to the actors making it believable. Re-casting would only put people off. It’s like watching your favourite tv show and, when one of the characters is re-cast, the show loses some of it’s magic. Know what I mean? I can’t think of anyone else playing J Jonah Jameson. J K Simmons made that role. Fantastic piece of casting.

Let’s hope that it all comes off.

Wake up DC and take a leaf out of Marvel’s (ahem) comic and start getting some movies together!

James McAvoy, From Mr Tumnus To Bilbo Baggins.

Looks like James McAvoy is top of the list to play Bilbo Baggins in the new Hobbit movies.

From all the names being bandied about (Jack Black, Daniel Radcliffe and others), James McAvoy’s name has been yelled the loudest. James has still to be approached by Guillermo Del Toro and Peter Jackson but looks like this will be sorted out soon with them all getting together and making James the offer.

Guillermo recently told Empire, “I can tell you it’s down to a few names that we all agree upon. For our first choice, completely magically, we all said the same name.” He never mentioned who’s name they all thought of.

As everyone knows, Sir Ian Holm played Bilbo in the Lord of the Rings trilogy but the Hobbit obviously requires younger actor since it chronicles the adventures of a young Bilbo Baggins and his quest to the Misty Mountains to face the fierce dragon, Smaug.

Oops! Wrong Movie.
